Infection Control
Preventing cross-contamination
Protecting against illness has become a serious issue for health care facilities due to more diseases becoming resistant to antibiotics.
As a single-patient use device, diseases and infections won’t get spread between patients when using PATRANs. By eliminating skin shear it protects patients while in your care.
PATRANs can go into areas where other safe-patient handling products can’t because they are single-patient-use and disposable. Many isolation units don’t allow slide boards or lifts because of serious risk for contamination. The PATRAN can be used with that isolation patient once or continuously during their stay.
The cost of infection
Hospitals are finding more restrictions to reimbursement for treatment if patients contract infections during the stay in their facilities.
As for nursing homes and personal care facilities, they have one of the highest rates of injury and illness, according to OSHA. The PATRAN provides a simple, low-cost method of lowering those incidents.
There is no time and money wasted on cleaning equipment and laundering slide sheets. We know that health care workers are pressed for time and want to spend their resources caring for patients.
